On 16 December 2014, six gunmen affiliated with the Tehrik-i-Taliban conducted a terrorist attack on the Army Public School in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar. Peshawar massacre is the third-deadliest school massacre by death toll (Wikipedia).
More than 300 children lost their lives on, what seemed like, a normal school day.

We rush to the doors,
Some hide under chairs
Some look out windowsills.
It’s time for art class,
Or a seminar in the auditorium,
We can’t tell.
We’ve no inkling of the horror to follow
But our hearts beat fast,
Preparing us to experience a whole new hell.
